Summer Reading Prizes

Registration for the Library’s summer reading program ended on July 15, 2011. Thank you to the 2,658 people who signed up! Prizes are available between August 1 and 31, 2011 for those who successfully complete the program!

  • Kids, read and record 10 books and pick up your free prize book and Friends of the Library gift certificate from the Children’s Desk.
  • Teens, complete the Bingo form and pick up either a free prize book OR a 2-GB USB drive bracelet from the Children’s Desk.
  • Adults, read 5 and record 5 books and pick up either a free prize book OR a $5 Friends of the Library gift certificate from the Information Desk.

Learn a New Language with Mango Languages

Mango LanguagesThe Library has recently acquired Mango Languages, on online language learning system for a wide variety of languages. In no time at all, you’ll be able to navigate all sorts of everyday situations in your new language – get directions, order a meal, make new friends – the possibilities are endless!  Because it is web-based, you can learn anywhere there is an internet connection – at the library, a coffee shop, or even at home in bed.

To use Mango, click on the link above or go to Research Online>Databases.  You’ll find Mango under Academic & Literature.  Create your own online profile to track your progress.  You’ll find the interactive approach both engaging and fun!
